The original Oval Crocheted Pouch came about as we were scaling down our Oval Crocheted Bucket Bags. When we arrived at these zippered pouches, we realized they were perfect for notions, cosmetics, projects . . . A bag for all reasons! We give you instructions for two sizes, but these pouches are super customizable. You just keep crocheting ‘til it’s the size you like. Then, with a free adaptation to our pattern, we came up with a fun striping sequence—another way to add your personal touch!

We crocheted this little pouch in two colors of Rowan , a 100% cotton, worsted-weight yarn. With tight plies and a smooth, cool touch, this workhorse of a yarn is fun to work with and easy to care for (machine washable!)—perfect for these frequently used pouches!

Pouches: Approx. 7 x 21⁄2" base x 31⁄4" tall (7 x 21⁄2" base x 61⁄4" tall)/18 x 6cm base x 8cm tall (18 x 6cm base x 16cm tall).

YARN
2 skeins (93 yds/85m each); 1 skein each in 2 colors. Designate Colors A and B. Or approx. 63 (93) yds/58 (85)m in Color A and 30 (75) yds/27 (69)m in Color B of an equivalent light worsted-weight cotton yarn.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge.
4 locking markers, one in a different color.
Blunt darning needle to finish.
9"/23cm zipper; sewing needle; thread to match yarn.
Optional lining for pouches: A piece of light-weight fabric measuring about 40"/102cm wide and at least 2"/5cm longer than the height of your pouch or bag; sewing needle and thread.

GAUGE
Approx. 20 sc/24 rounds = 4"/10 cm on gauge hook.
